Provision of classrooms in the wake of tropical cyclone Larry
On the 20 March 2006, tropical cyclone Larry crossed the tropical north Queensland coast near Innisfail. Classified as a category 4 cyclone wind gusts were estimated to have been up to 240 km/h (149 miles/h). Fortunately, no lives were lost and no serious injuries were reported. However, between Babinda and Tully, damage to infrasturture and crops was extensive with the total estimated loss upwards of half a billion dollars (US$ 408 million).

As a result of the damage caused by Cyclone Larry the Catholic Education – Diocese of Cairns lost 8 classrooms in total at the Good Counsel Primary School in Innisfail and St Rita’s School in Babinda.
BRB Modular was able to manufacture, deliver and install 10 demountable classrooms to enable classes to resume as scheduled after the Easter School Holiday break on the 17 April 2006 only 27-days after cyclone Larry hit.
